Speaking at PMI-LA’s Northern LA County Meeting on January 3, 2013
I will be speaking at the first meeting for PMI-LA’s Northern LA County meeting of 2013!
Here’s the details:
2013 January 3rd Northern LA County Meeting
In the December 2012 issue of “PMI Today” there are 494,594 PMP’s worldwide, according to the PMI Fact File (dated 10/31/2012). This is a testament to PMI’s work in being the leader of the most popular and sought after project management certification worldwide. The problem for many project managers newly certified as well as those who have had the designation for a while, is that many are at a loss of how to make practical use of their newly found knowledge. Worse, many try to shoehorn it into their project work inappropriately. Presenter Don Kim will make the bold claim that the PMBOK, which the majority of the PMP is based, is actually a highly logical and intuitive framework and body of knowledge that if understood from the perspective of an integrated whole, will allow one to use it in a very practical manner in one’s everyday work. Don will explain this concept as well as show practical real world examples from diverse areas such as using Earned Value Management with Statistical Process Control to using a constraint based Critical Path Methodology with Agile to formulate a hybrid Agile/PMBOK based practice. This will allow you to differentiate yourself from the ever growing pack of PMPs!
